Aspen, Maroon Bells & Ashcroft
Ashcroft, Colorado is located in the Castle Creek Valley south of Aspen. It’s a ghost town that has been impeccably preserved, and it happens to be surrounded by one of the most spectacular fall color displays in all of Colorado.
On a crisp morning last fall, I headed out of Aspen at the end of a business trip and found myself revitalized by looking through the lens. The display usually occurs in late September, give or take a week or two.
